Dance Proms public vote will be re-run from 16th -...
The Royal Academy of Dance offers a wide range of courses, classes and workshops for young people
We had thousands of votes cast during the Dance Proms online Public Vote and we would like to thank everyone who took part.
On 10th June we were alerted to the fact that an unusually large number of votes had been cast in a short amount of time. On interrogating the system, it became apparent that this was a result of vote tampering, which has affected approximately 50% of the total votes. This is obviously very disappointing but our main concern is to ensure a fair outcome for ALL of the students and teachers who have worked so hard to get this far in the Dance Proms project. For that reason, we have decided to invalidate the results and re-run the online public vote, putting in place enhanced security measures to ensure that this does not happen again.
The same five acts will be put up for the public vote, providing each of them with an equal opportunity to be chosen for the final gala performance on Sunday 13th November at the Royal Albert Hall.
The vote will run from 9am on Thursday 16th June until 5pm on Monday 20th June.
We all want to work together to make Dance Proms the best that it can be and we hope that we can count on your vote to help make it happen.
Best wishes, Dance Proms (13th June 2011).
