The Royal Academy of Dance offers a wide range of courses, classes and workshops for young people
Using funds raised from a Billy Elliot – The Musical Gala, we created a programme called Boys Only! which aims to promote the knowledge and practice of dance, particularly ballet, to young men aged 8 - 18 years old.
Boys Only! provides access to inclusive, high-energy, intensive dance workshops and positive role models. The workshops are led by male teachers / dancers and through creative partnership working we aim to create long-term opportunities for gifted and talented young men to continue to dance and to engage with RAD programmes and initiatives.
The course comprises classes in ballet and one or more, other dance subjects which may be Contemporary or Street Dance, amongst others. Classes are taught by experienced and inspirational male teachers.
Who can attend: young men aged 8 -18 years (depending on location)
Duration: 2 consecutive days
Please note that students will be split into groups according to age and previous dance experience.
